Stanford, a place to call home

And all is well in our little Village

3
Today we celebrate Gratitude
Our dams are overflowing, our community is standing strong in the face of adversity, vaccinations are rolling out seamlessly at our very efficient clinic and we are so grateful to be living in such a beautiful part of the world.

Besides living in the Village itself we have 2 exquisite gated estates within 2 km from Stanford.

Stanhaven is a pretty estate which has 91 plots with a number of walkways and little streams meandering amongst the plots. Approximately 45% of this estate has completed homes whilst a number of plots have been sold recently.

Klein River Estate is smaller with only 38 stands which is accessed by driving through the beautiful vineyards of the Walker Bay Wine Estate.

See our short videos on both estates below...

Stay warm, wear your mask and be grateful

Not a needle in a haystack but more of a bit of anything and everything!
A Hula hoop or a bicycle tire ? A packet of cardamom seeds or a can of doom? A new tv or a bottle of braai sauce?
Kettle or a packet of bird seed? The list is endless….

Mr Rashid and his helpful team have it all !!
But what we love the most are his delicious freshly fried samosas. Clearly Leanne`s sneaky favourite treat as you can see from the pic.

Winter fun recipe

Looking for something special to accompany that hearty soup you made or as a side at the next braai? Try this easy 5 ingredient cheese-stuffed flatbread!

5-ingredient cheese-stuffed flatbreads

Flatbread-400x400
  • 1 cup double-cream plain yoghurt
  • 120g self-raising flour
  • salt, to taste
  • 400g grated mozzarella
  • garlic butter, for frying
  • 10 g fresh parsley chopped sprinkled over pan
1. Mix the yoghurt, flour and salt until just combined, then turn out onto a floured surface and knead into a ball of dough. If it’s too wet, add some more flour to make soft, smooth dough. Knead for 5 minutes.

2. Divide into 4 balls and make a hole in each ball using your thumb. Generously pack with grated cheese, then pinch the hole closed to seal.
3. Roll out to an oval naan bread shape, fill half with more grated cheese, fold over to seal and roll out again.
4. Fry in garlic butter in a non-stick pan over a medium heat until golden brown on both sides. Pull apart to watch the stretch!
